This semester (Spring 2003) I have begun teaching the musculoskeletal system to my 11th and 12th grade students at Clinton High School using the MANIKENTM system from Zahourek Systems. I have two classes with a total of 42 students . They are "share-paired" so that each student has one-half ManikenTM . Pairs are combined so that four people share a set of group tools and muscle atlas.
This pilot effort would
not have been possible without the support of Jon Zahourek and his company.
In addition, some of the ManikensTM were
purchased with a grant from BWXT Y-12, an Oak Ridge, TN contractor and
also the financial support of Dr. Randall Robbins, local orthopaedic surgeon.
I gratefully acknowledge them.
